Love Beneath the Laces

This artwork is a heartfelt tribute to my dad and to all the fathers who hold a special bond with their daughters. It is inspired by a cherished memory that remains close to my family’s heart. When I was little, my dad worked long hours, and I missed him deeply, knowing he felt the same. One day, I decided to send my love with him to work by slipping a small note into his shoe, hoping he’d find it and know how much he meant to me.

That evening, my dad came home and showed my mom the note he had discovered in his shoe. When my mom asked if I had left it there, I eagerly sprang up and excitedly asked, “Did he find the other note in the other shoe?” My parents burst into laughter, and that moment became a family story, shared with love and smiles over the years.

Through this painting, I celebrate that memory, symbolizing the simple, yet profound acts of love that connect us. The shoes, the heart, and the warmth of the composition capture the essence of that moment—a bond that lasts forever.
