The Power of Peace

Artist Statement

Through this artwork, I wanted to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring spirit of peace, resilience, and hope. I chose to create his portrait using a modern, abstract style to connect his timeless ideals to the younger generation and to show that kindness, courage, and peaceful resistance can create beautiful change in the world and to show that even though he is a historical figure, his message still feels alive today.

The white dove in the background symbolizes peace and freedom—values that he dedicated his life to.

Creating this piece taught me that strength doesn’t always come from force—it can also come from compassion, patience, and unity. I hope this painting reminds everyone that even one person, with a heart full of hope, can change the world.
